Apple Now 75 Per Cent Powered by Renewable Energy

Consumer electronics giant  Apple Inc. has more than doubled its percentage of green building facilities since 2010, with 75 per cent of its offices currently powered by renewable sources of energy.

While Apple, the world’s second largest information technology company and the world’s third largest maker of mobile phones, manufactures products which account for a vast amount of global electricity consumption, the company itself is fast adopting measures to reduce its own energy expenditures and minimize its carbon footprint.

In a recent update posted to the company’s environmental page, Apple showcased its efforts to shore up its sustainability chops and diminish the adverse impact on the environment of its global operations.
